The Benefits of Drinking Water

Drinking water is crucial to your body, your fitness and well being and all around good health.

It is readily available, and easy to get, however, it is the most underused item in people’s diet and exercise programs.

Water is crucial to your body’s function.  The body is made of more than 60% water.  Why not give it what it needs and deserves?

For most people, the realization that simply adding water to their daily routines can improve their health and well being seems to simple to try.  So they don’t even bother!  I suggest starting slowly, and try to drink 60-80 ounces a day!  See if you notice an improvement!  The benefits of staying hydrated include:

1. Lose Weight

2. Less Joint Pain

3. Flush out system, improve digestion

4. Improve Mood

5. Better for your skin

6. Prevent Headaches

7. Help Prevent Disease

So give it a try!  You will be glad you did!

Ready to Tailor Your Birthday Suit?

That is the question!

After a long winter, it is time to think spring! Then Summer!  It is around the corner!

 

It is possible that our birthday suits may need to be “re-sized” at this point.

Spring is a great time to get back into a routine.  The days are longer, weather gets warmer, and the idea of summer is on our minds.

Cardio and diet are great ways to lose a couple of sizes.  But don’t forget that free weights are an important part of that program.

So if you can’t get outside, or to the gym invest in some quality equipment for your home!

Happy New Year (Resolutions!)

You ready for 2017??

It is already starting!  Time to eat clean and work out!  The gyms are packed once again.  Everyone is on board the fitness train!  Can you hear it?

Try this diet, do this routine, go to this club!  Enjoy your free trials! Sign up for the next 12 week Bikini Challenge!  If you listen closely enough you can hear the “Cha Ching”.

Investing in your health is something you SHOULD do.  Not just for January thru April, but for life!  Committing to get fit should be a daily routine.  Keeping consistency is key. Perhaps that club, or boot camp gets you motivated to get going!  Then great!  Go for it! But maybe, just maybe you should also consider investing some of those dollars on some equipment for your home.  Keep the cardio going, get some kettlebells, free weights, bands, bars, mats.  Bring what you learn out there, into your own home!

Keep motivated daily!  Bring about some good habits to translate to better health ALL YEAR LONG! So don’t be a couch potato!!!

New Year, New Routine? What to do?

New Years

Well it is finally here!

The New Year! 2017, will it finally be the year to get your rear in shape?

Where do you start? Easy, if you fell off the wagon, time to start again.  One day at a time.

If you are a “regular”, but need some new motivation, What should you do?

With so many workout fads out there, really you can just pick one! We all want results, and want them fast.  We think we can undo months of bad habits in 6 easy workouts just 10 minutes a day!  Funny how that works, but that’s the world we live in!

If you ask me, I am “old school”.

With all the classes from group training, to Cross Fit, Les Mills, P90X, P90X2, the list can be endless..so stop the “Insanity”! (Did you see what I did there? Clever aren’t I?)

I guess the point is this, what ever you decide to do, just MOVE! Get back into a routine of health! But most importantly, be CONSISTENT!  Whether you train at home, or at any of the $10 fitness clubs popping up all over the nation, stay strict with your routine and motivation!

Halloween….Tricks, Treats and MORE Treats!

It’s that time of year again!

 

HALLOWEEN!

 

Candy and more candy!  A festive time of year, the start of the “Holiday Season”.

If we are not careful, it all can go downhill starting now!

 

Halloween leads to Thanksgiving, which in turn leads to Christmas and the New Year.  Yes, “resolution” time!  However, if you take time to get a handle on things, you can “keep calm and carry on”.

 

It is important to live life and enjoy it!  Just try to keep your healthy habits in perspective! Stay to the diet best you can during the week, and allow that Halloween party (candy and all) and other fun times in check!

 

Exercise!  This is crucial.  If you want to play you have to pay.  So have a good attitude about it!  Make sure you have a realistic routine.  A back up piece of equipment is important to have in your home.  If you have one, make sure it is in working order BEFORE the cold weather hits.  If not, maybe consider investing in a newer piece with a full warranty.

The gym is great! If you have a membership, it is important to use it.  However, we all know what happens in January!  All the “newbies” coming in for their resolutions.

How to beat the frustration of that time of year?  How about adding some free weightsresistance bandsdumb bells or many other items to make an inexpensive home gym of your own at home?  A go to piece of cardio at home, like a treadmillelliptical or bike?

Will Spring Ever Come to New England?

Spring, is this season just a myth?

Summer, flies by in a blink. Fall, shows up for a couple weeks, feels like summer in the beginning, and then snows by Halloween. Winter. WINTER goes on forever and ever! For example, It’s March and April will be knocking on our door. Technically, Spring has almost arrived!

Almost warm enough to take that workout routine outside. So what does that mean for us? Well, we are still hitting the gyms and home workout routines best we can, but something is missing. That feeling you get when you can take that walk outside! The longer days, the warmer weather, the flowers and buds on the trees. Hello? Has anyone seen them? I mean, I see sand, salt and dirty roads. It is very hard to stay motivated. I mean come on, we are 3 months away from bikini season? Are you ready? (And no guys, I am not talking to you!) How do we keep it together without losing it all completely?

First idea, book a trip and head to warmer weather! If you can’t do that, then get some vitamin D the natural way! It will help believe me. Then, revamp your workout routine. It is time to change it up, and try new things to inspire you to launch into the spring/summer season.

Group classes, hire a trainer, invest in a quality treadmill, elliptical or gym for your home. Think about how you can invest in yourself, by investing in your health. That’s my motto, and the one I stick by!

So hang in there, eventually this long winter will turn to spring. Well for maybe a week, then turn to summer, but whatever the case, you will be ready for it!
