Halloween….Tricks, Treats and more Treats!

It’s that time of year again!

HALLOWEEN!

 

Candy and more candy!  A festive time of year, the start of the “Holiday Season”.

If we are not careful, it all can go downhill starting now!

Halloween leads to Thanksgiving, which in turn leads to Christmas and then the New Year.  Yes, “resolution” time!  However, if you take time to get a handle on things, you can “keep calm and carry on”.

 

It is important to live life and enjoy it!  Just try to keep your healthy habits in perspective! Stay to the diet best you can during the week, and allow that Halloween party (candy and all) and other fun times in check!

 

Exercise!  This is crucial.  If you want to play you have to pay.  So have a good attitude about it!  Make sure you have a realistic routine.  A back up piece of equipment is important to have in your home.  If you have one, make sure it is in working order BEFORE the cold weather hits.  If not, maybe consider investing in a newer piece with a full warranty.

 

The gym is great! If you have a membership, it is important to use it.  However, we all know what happens in January!  All the “newbies” coming in for their resolutions.

How to beat the frustration of that time of year?  How about adding some free weightsresistance bandsdumb bells or many other items to make an inexpensive home gym of your own at home?  A go to piece of cardio at home, like a treadmillelliptical or bike.

Is Summer REALLY Over???

Ah…what the hell happened?  I blinked and the Summer of 2018 is over?? Say it isn’t so!

Well I for one will not go quietly!  I want summer to NEVER end!

However, the body has enjoyed the Summer of 2018 very much!

So we are all in the same situation now, time to “reel” it in from all the bad habits, and fun parties and get togethers.  Diet? What diet? Training? What a regular routine?  Come on!

Time to get a schedule/routine again!  Perfect time is now!

See kids go back to school, fall starts to hit here in New England (when I say fall, I mean the two weeks of cooler temps and crisp Autumn leaves) We all know here we have two seasons.  Winter and Summer.  Summer lasts 4 months, Winter 7 months.  We have two weeks of spring (if lucky), and two weeks fall (when we go from 90 degrees to 20 and snow)

However, with “fall” we have FOOTBALL!  So here in Patriots country we shall still have those “get togethers” and continue the eating and drinking and being merry…because the Patriots are a fun team to watch with WINNERS.

So get to the gym, walk that treadmill, and dust off those weights!

Have to train so we can enjoy all the Fall season Brings!

Ready To Tailor Your Birthday Suit?

That is the question!

After a long winter, it is time to think spring! Then Summer!  It is around the corner!

 

It is possible that our birthday suits may need to be “re-sized” at this point.

Spring is a great time to get back into a routine.  The days are longer, weather gets warmer, and the idea of summer is on our minds.  Well, it is officially here! Happy Summer 2018!

Cardio and diet are great ways to lose a couple of sizes.  But don’t forget that free weights are an important part of that program.

So if you can’t get outside, or to the gym invest in some quality equipment for your home!

From the smallest accessories, to full commerical cardio and free weight equipment!

A Workout and Vacation….Does it really work?

Here is a question I hear all the time.

Should I try a workout routine while away on vacation?

Well here is my take, for what it is worth.

Are you going away for a week, month, or a summer? That is important!

To all my friends traveling for a week or less..HELL NO! You work hard, you deserve a break.  Go, enjoy what life has to offer! (Spoken from someone who knows!)

When we returned from a 5 day trip to Cape Cod, it was worth every extra calorie, and non rep!  Gave the mind and body a chance to take a break!

However, keep in mind when you return, it is time to detox, and get back on that horse again!

If you do plan on going away for a longer period of time, then you must have a back up routine planned.  Bring some resistance bands, dumb bells, exerballs, kettle bells on your trip!  They can travel well.  Even check into a health club close by that may honor your existing memberships from clubs where you live.

Either way, you need to be smart about fitness and your health!  Take a moment to enjoy your down time! Focus on your mental health, as much as your physical health! Life is short so LIVE IT! And stay healthy!

Get a Small for your Valentine!

Ok Ladies, (and gents) let’s talk about the largest muscle in your body!

Known by many names; Gluteus Maximus, Glutes, buttocks, butt, derriere, tushy, the junk trunk, really I can go on all day! How to get that booty in shape so it is noticed? And I don’t mean because it walks in the door 10 minutes after you do, or requires double door openings.  I mean, how do we get it to be in a shape that we can love and appreciate? HARD WORK PEOPLE!

But, (see what I did there) with dedication and a few exercises, we can get you to love your “rump” so much more!

Where to start? How about squats? The best exercise to work this area.  Using free weights, dumb bells, kettle bells, bars, and bands.  Use a rack or without, up to you! At the gym, or at home, you can work it as hard as you want to.  Lunges, also are a fantastic exercise to strengthen and tone.  Walking or stationery, it is a killer if your form is correct!

Use a body ball, or stability ball for hamstring curls, or even wall squats.

We can not forget the “elephant” in the room, that of course being DIET.  Your eating habits are crucial to achieving success!

Give yourself two weeks, TWO WEEKS to see a big difference! I promise, you will love your new buttocks, and so will your Valentine! Happy Valentines Day from all of us a Fit Equipment Etc!

New Year, New Routine! Time to go get it!

New Years

Well it is finally here!

The New Year! 2018, will it finally be the year to get your rear in shape?

Where do you start? Easy, if you fell off the wagon, time to start again.  One day at a time.

If you are a “regular”, but need some new motivation, What should you do?

With so many workout fads out there, really you can just pick one! We all want results, and want them fast.  We think we can undo months of bad habits in 6 easy workouts just 10 minutes a day!  Funny how that works, but that’s the world we live in!

If you ask me, I am “old school”.

With all the classes from group training, to Cross Fit, Les Mills, P90X, P90X2, the list can be endless..so stop the “Insanity”! (Did you see what I did there? Clever aren’t I?)

I guess the point is this, what ever you decide to do, just MOVE! Get back into a routine of health! But most importantly, be CONSISTENT!  Whether you train at home, or at any of the $10 fitness clubs popping up all over the nation, stay strict with your routine and motivation!
