Let’s talk about being POSITIVE! Especially in the world today..
Ever here the terms “Negative Nellies/Normans”, “Debbie/Donnie Downers”??
It is true! So many people tend to focus on the “negatives” instead of the “POSITIVES“.
Why is that? Maybe if we just take a minute to stop, and change our mindsets to something that makes us feel happy, and not let the little things get us down. Do people realize that NO ONE really wants to hear you? Maybe go take that workout you have been putting off, and use it to let off some steam? Before you take your bad day home with you, take a moment to change your head, and make a positive change!
I myself find exercise a way to “release” the worries/troubles/frustrations, anything negative, and change focus and attitude. It can be as simple as taking a walk listening to your favorite artist. You know, that song that makes you smile, makes you want to be in your happy place! It is amazing how quickly you can turn your day around!
Nowadays, social media can be something! Reading status updates all day long, makes us wonder how people deal with things. It is funny. Either you have someone who just feels the need to complain with every post, or someone who wants to keep you motivated and smiling. I vote for the latter! I love to see people happy, a funny joke, a light-hearted story.
I think positive thoughts bring about positive results! So if you have been focusing too much on the negative, take this blog to make you “re-think” your attitude!
Go do something that makes you smile! The joy you feel is infectious! It will bring happiness to all that surround you. If everyone takes time out to do something to make someone smile, this world will be a better place!
In the words of the famous, and very talented Bob Marley, “Don’t worry, ’bout a thing, ’cause every little thing..gonna be alright”.

After a long winter, it is time to think spring! Then Summer! It is around the corner!
It is possible that our birthday suits may need to be “re-sized” at this point.
Spring is a great time to get back into a routine. The days are longer, weather gets warmer, and the idea of summer is on our minds.
Cardio and diet are great ways to lose a couple of sizes. But don’t forget that free weights are an important part of that program.
So if you can’t get outside, or to the gym invest in some quality equipment for your home!

Happy New Year (Resolutions!)
You ready for 2016??
It is already starting! Time to eat clean and work out! The gyms are packed once again. Everyone is on board the fitness train! Can you hear it?
Try this diet, do this routine, go to this club! Enjoy your free trials! Sign up for the next 12 week Bikini Challenge! If you listen closely enough you can hear the “Cha Ching”.
Investing in your health is something you SHOULD do. Not just for January thru April, but for life! Committing to get fit should be a daily routine. Keeping consistency is key. Perhaps that club, or boot camp gets you motivated to get going! Then great! Go for it! But maybe, just maybe you should also consider investing some of those dollars on some equipment for your home. Keep the cardio going, get some kettlebells, free weights, bands, bars, mats. Bring what you learn out there, into your own home!
Keep motivated daily! Bring about some good habits to translate to better health ALL YEAR LONG! So don’t be a couch potato!!!

Ah, the summer..So much fun! Taking those long summer days to head to the beach, that family cookout, or even that evening concert. All the while, munching and drinking ourselves into oblivion! The one thing we tend to lax on is fitness. Our workouts..our walks, our strength training, our group training sessions, spin classes, the cross fit routine, or even that home DVD that motivates you! (Thank you Tony Horton!) Yes, ALL OF THOSE THINGS fall by the wayside when summer hits.
Why is it we all go “gung ho” to get into that summer bathing suit, yet once in it, we forget to maintain those good habits? I’ll tell you why, human nature. We work hard, but then there is a time to play. And play we do! But welcome to the fall, and with that comes a reality slap. Whoa..The holidays are coming! I think my pants shrunk! I never noticed THAT before! Now what? Time to dust off that elliptical, lubricate that treadmill, and tour your local health clubs. Fall is the perfect time to fall back into a fitness routine. Time to get the diet and nutrition habits back in check before the holidays roll around. A way to jump start on the New Year resolutions. Maybe you can knock off a few pounds before the holidays! Get yourself back to start by the time the New Year rolls around.

Drinking water is crucial to your body, your fitness and well being and all around good health.
It is readily available, and easy to get, however, it is the most underused item in people’s diet and exercise programs.
Water is crucial to your body’s function. The body is made of more than 60% water. Why not give it what it needs and deserves?
For most people, the realization that simply adding water to their daily routines can improve their health and well being seems to simple to try. So they don’t even bother! Let the countdown begin…
Just about two weeks away from Thanksgiving, or as I like to call it, the most amazing food fest/cheat day of the year!
A time to get together with family and friends, and celebrate all that we are truly thankful for. So please explain to me how it always revolves around food? I know it sounds funny, I mean I truly enjoy the turkey and all the fix-ins, however, I am left thinking how did this holiday really translate to food.
People who try so hard to eat well and exercise live a healthy lifestyle most days, but Thanksgiving..well that is the best cheat day of the year! I mean who the heck “diets” during Thanksgiving? Does that even make sense? As Chris Berman would say, “Come on Man!” It is not possible! Dieting should be against the law on this holiday.
I think everyone should get a free pass, in fact I will declare it right now! YOU! Yes, you! The person reading this.. I give you permission to enjoy your family, friends, and eat whatever you want on Thanksgiving! However, there is a catch. You have to get back on track the day after! Thanksgiving is ONE day. Not Thursday-Sunday. Nope! So let’s make a deal! You work hard to stay fit, eat well, exercise? You owe yourself a “day off” to be thankful for all that you have. If you don’t live a healthy lifestyle, well, perhaps it is time to use this as your wake up call. Start! One day at a time!
If everyone took time out to celebrate themselves, we may have more positive and happy people around. The world could be a better place! Now how about we commit to living a healthier lifestyle. Not just for ourselves, but for those around us. The “trickle down” effect can be huge! Spreading to family and friends in a very good way!
The holidays are meant to be enjoyed. They are meant to be a happy occasion. If you are not happy with yourselves, how can you enjoy this time, or anyone around you? Think about it! Deep thoughts with Laurie.
May you find peace, and be thankful for all that you have today! For living your best life is the best gift you can give yourself! Happy Thanksgiving All!
